An opportunity to see members work and talk to them – Rufford Art Society was created in the 1980s to provide community access to art & craft. Members meet at The Community Room at Rufford Country Park twice monthly. A news-sheet outlines the options for each ‘term’, from which members can choose to attend. At each meeting an artist (who could be a member) helps others to develop or practice a wide range of skills including print, textiles, glass, painting, paper clay, life drawing, bookmaking etc. There are exhibitions of members work, traditionally biannual.
There is a Coach House for refreshments, also a pizza van and an ice cream parlour. A plant nursery and sculpture garden are on site. The Country Park itself has large grounds for walking, a lake with wildfowl and a historic abbey
