I paint and sculpt in a loose figurative style, using oils, watercolour & clay.
A common thread in Susan’s work is an ‘endeavour to capture the spirit of things or places I have known, to seek to illuminate aspects of the world that have captured my imagination – to evoke feeling’.
Born in Cardiff and originally training in fine art sculpture, Susan Isaac worked as a landscape archaeologist in Shropshire and Lancashire before returning full time to painting and sculpture, based at her adoptive home in Nottinghamshire.
Susan has appeared twice on Sky Landscape Artist of the Year – as a ‘wildcard’ winner in 2021 (filmed in 2020) and as a pod contestant in 2022 (filmed in 2021). She won the Attenborough Prize in 2022.
