Jayne of J.C. Middlebrook makes embroidered lace works anchored in a long tradition of Nottingham Lace. Her research into the history of Nottingham’s famous industry takes her work beyond nostalgia, emphasising technical detail, hidden marks and revealing the hands behind the ‘machine-made’ textile. Her original work includes textile artworks and wearable lace jewellery. Jayne’s studio is located in an outbuilding with views over her beautiful garden.
