I have been working with glass for nearly 20 years and turned my hobby into my business 12 years ago. I now work predominately with glass fusing but also love having the opportunity to create and repair traditional stained glass windows as well. About 6 years ago I started leading making sessions to introduce other people to the wondering creative opportunity of working with glass and now run these regularly from my studio, galleries and universities in the region.
KATHERINE WILSON’S STUDIO
My purpose built studio is at the bottom of my garden so there is plenty of inspiration surrounding it. In the summer the glass front is opened up and in the winter I make sure it is cosy. Solar panels are fitted so that the kiln firings have a low environmental impact.
KATHERINE WILSON’S WORK
I create useful, wearable, affordable pieces which bring colour and functionality to your life. My pieces need to feel nice as well as look appealing and I never tire of experimenting and leaning more about this wonderful material.
