Originally an English teacher before retraining in textiles to teach mainly adults. My early love of creating with fabric and other materials has made me focus on felted, stitched and embroidered accessories and framed images. Recently I have experimented with collagraph print-making to enhance my range. I exhibit and teach widely across the East Midlands.

JANE MARROWS – STUDIO

My main studio space is a large room in my house. Here all my preparation, design and stitched work takes place. It is a particularly good space in the afternoon and evening when it is flooded with light. My work also involves using hot water and a sink so I also utilise my kitchen and on warm days my garden.

JANE MARROWS – WORK

My range of stitched and felted textile accessories includes scarves, bags, and brooches. I create framed stitched mixed media pieces from a variety of materials using in particular my own hand produced silk paper sheets, which begin as loose silk fibres. New work includes artist books from my own collagraphs. Images of my felt work are available as art cards.
