Cath Ray - profileCath Ray has been painting, drawing and bookbinding since leaving De Montfort University with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art & History of Art almost 30 years ago. Her current studio is in the centre of Retford where she takes commissions for paintings and bespoke books. Cath teaches regularly in schools and runs workshops and short (8 week) courses on drawing and colour. She is a member of Artempo, a group of artists based in North Nottinghamshire, and exhibits regularly at galleries and venues in the region including the Dovecote in Styrrup and The Harley Gallery.

CATH RAY – STUDIO

Cath is based at ‘The Hub’ in Retford, a beautiful Georgian building on Canon Square with a view of St. Swithun’s Church beyond. It is open to the public, and home to several other artists. It is a lovely environment to work in, sometimes busy with ideas, creativity, & visitors & sometimes lovely and quiet.

CATH RAY – WORK

As a bookbinder Cath Ray specialises in one-off creations using reclaimed or donated items, which are skillfully manipulated to form usable notebooks, sketchbooks & photograph albums. Her oils, pastels & drawings explore themes of empty buildings and Nottinghamshire landscapes.
