Painter inspired by the Pre-Raphaelites. Also landscapes and portraiture.
Jude has been a painter (particularly portraits) from her early twenties. To supplement her income from commissions she also worked as a display artist, designing backdrops for department store promotions. She has a garden studio where she works on her rather detailed portraits (usually in oils), light hearted animal portrayals and watercolour landscapes (many featuring local scenery). Her influences are drawn from her passion for late Victorian artists and illustrators. Favourites include J.W. Waterhouse, Helen Allingham and Arthur Rackham. Large exhibitions of her work have been mounted at Newark Museum and The Gilstrap, Newark. She has been part of Open Studios Notts since 2014.
