Parking: is available (limited spaces) directly next to the gallery, but visitors can also chose to park on the main road (Bridgegate), where parking is free of charge for one hour (& all day on the Sunday). Longer parking is also available at the car park just over the bridge, or on Churchgate car park with the venue being a short walk up the river. Refreshments: available & cafes nearby. Partial Wheelchair Access.
Cath Ray Gallery and Studios is home to 7 artists and an exhibition space: Alison Beevers (Botanical Printmaker), William Boulby (Artist), Andy Hill (Painter), Tracey Page (Mixed Media), Bev Ramsbotham (Textile Artist), Cath Ray (Artist/Bookbinder), Bryn Walls (Graphic Designer). Gallery exhibition by Jane Aukland. Artists will be available to talk to visitors about their work on the Open Studio days.
Open since July 2022, the venue is open six days per week and offers exhibitions, studio space, and classes for all ages in a ground floor and accessible setting.
Retford is a thriving town for art, and has three other galleries for visitors to see on the Saturday. Refreshments will be available and we have a lovely pub next door and have a fully gluten-free cafe a short walk away. At the gallery & studios, visitors will see painting, drawing, bookbinding, printing, embroidery, and stone-carving. All artists live in and around Retford and have formed a close and supportive relationship in our lovely new premises. Alongside the exhibition are crafts and cards for sale by various artists.
