ABOUT TINA BETTISON

I feel a deep connection to the world around me and I love to capture the colours and textures that I see, or to zoom in on some detail that it would be so easy to miss. My work is deeply rooted in nature, and I create using photography, mixed media painting and words.

I’m just starting out on a new journey in exploring wild and natural pigments and processes. My start point is making inks and paints from foraging in my garden and my kitchen cupboards.

My studio is my garden, my kitchen and a corner of the house that I’ve taken over. I dream of a studio room of my own with a plant house attached.

Flower and nature photography – capturing details and textures, with dreamy painterly-like qualities; nature-based (semi) abstract artworks which aim to capture the essence of my subject; writing – poetry and prose.
