ABOUT CLARE WATSON

Painting has been one of my hobbies for the last 20 years, after seeing an advert to ‘Learn to Paint Watercolours in your Lunch hour’ caught my eye. These lessons with a variety of workshops have been the bulk of my training. I went on to run workshops and art clubs in local primary schools and gave talks to WI groups. I am always aiming to pass on my love of the subject in an accessible way.

CLARE WATSON – STUDIO

I am extremely fortunate to have a lovely bright airy space which I use for my studio. There is plenty of room to spread my creative wings! It does however get used as a social space too when I have to clear all my clutter away!

CLARE WATSON – WORK

I enjoy working in a loose, vibrant style, experimenting with different techniques too add texture and interest to my work. I love the countryside and this is often a starting point for my work, whether the architectural shape of something like cow parsley or the way the light highlights the world around us.
