Clare Taylor’s practice is multi-disciplinary, she graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a First Class BA Hons degree in Crafts having specialised in Ceramics and Textiles. She works mainly in three-dimensions focusing upon the natural world and storytelling. Recent work has concentrated on the creation of cheerful mixed-media characters from ceramics and illustrations using homemade ink. Clare’s ceramic sculptures enabled her to win the Ninth INAX Design Prize for Europeans and have a residency in Tokoname, Japan before embarking upon a career in art education and more recently community participation with Bus and Bird Arts.

CLARE TAYLOR – STUDIO

Clare Taylor’s studio is a small ‘Shed of Dreams’ in her garden. It’s where birds and squirrels can be glimpsed whilst she creates cheerful clay characters, concocts smelly natural inks and daydreams.
