Born and brought up on the Lincolnshire coast, David Moore spent 38 years living and working in South Africa before returning to England. While abroad, David worked in theatre stage management and design, in furniture design and sales, and had his own gallery. He opened Newark Art Gallery in 2019 as a public viewing platform as well as a retail gallery for various artists works, including his own – “Inspiration can come from things I have seen or heard, conversations, something on television … and I just go from there”. Newark Art operates from a 16th century listed building in Newark, allowing the public to see the interior of the building as well as the works on display. David’s studio is in the gallery.
