Sarah began sewing in 2010 having been told at school that she couldn’t sew! After trying free-machine embroidery she became hooked (it is VERY addictive!) & in 2012 Wildgoose Designs began. Sarah has grown her one-woman enterprise & now sells in several shops as well as at craft fairs & other events. She has also teaches free-machine embroidery & lampshade making. Most of her work is inspired by nature – birds, bees & flowers all feature as well as the ever-popular hearts. Liberty fabric and Harris tweed are often incorporated into her work to add a splash of colour.

SARAH SEWELL (WILDGOOSE DESIGNS) – STUDIO

My studio – is challenging! I am home-based, working on our dining room table, surrounded by the trappings of a textile artist – fabric, sewing machine, threads…it’s manageable but not ideal (especially when we use the table for family meals each evening!) I dream of a dedicated space to work in…one day!

SARAH SEWELL (WILDGOOSE DESIGNS) – WORK

Created by using free-machine embroidery and applique & mainly nature-inspired, Sarah’s work often features bees, birds & flowers. She also sells a very popular range of framed fabric hearts made using Liberty fabrics. Most of her work is framed art with greeting cards also available.
