OPEN STUDIOS NOTTS 10th ANNIVERSARY
INVITING ARTISTS TO BE PART OF THE CELEBRATIONS!

  • Please make your payment of £35 with your application (details of how to pay are on the form – and note a reduced fee is available to last year’s participants).
  • Deadline for applications is Mon 18 Jan 2021 extended to Mon 25 Jan 2021.

… and here is what OPEN STUDIOS NOTTS  are doing for 2021.

Artists Pages for Virtual + Actual Open Studios – Each individual participating artist will be offered a profile page on the OSNotts website. For examples from 2020 take a look here.

Artist profile – each will include space for:

    • A detailed artist biography.
    • Studio images.
    • Videos (these can be as simple or creative as you like):
      • Studio tours.
      • Work demos.
    •  Opportunities to promote your work
      • Links to your selling sites (your website, Etsy etc).
      • 6 items of work shown on your artist pages.
    • Social media – links to your social media and live events.
    • Promoting your in-person open studios event in May/June.

Artist Groups:

    • All artists must register for OSNotts and will have an individual profile page.
    • Group events will be offered an event listing including dates, times and place which links to the individual profile pages of the registered, participating individual artists.

PDF Venue Map and Listing

  • We will produce a Printable PDF map of the open studios venues, with a listing of participating artists and groups by area and dates.
  • This will be available online for visitors looking for open studio events to visit and will link to your profile page.

Anniversary Leaflet

We will be creating a simple (but effective) anniversary leaflet to celebrate and promote OSNotts, directing visitors to the OSNotts website for all the information they need to visit and get involved. The leaflet will also promote the Inspire exhibitions. We plan to distribute 20,000 leaflets throughout the county and each individual artist will get a supply.

The Creative Birthday Cake Competition

As we missed our gatherings and cake eating opportunities last year, we’d love to create our own special cakes to share with everyone on social media! Artists and the public will be invited to create a birthday cake in any medium (drawn, sculpted, baked, crafted, interpretative dance, music composition – anything goes), then photograph or record (video or audio) the creation and post on social media using a specific hashtag for all to enjoy. Details to follow but there will be opportunities for voting and prizes, so get your creative cake making hats on now!

Celebrating 10 years of OSNotts!

Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries (and previously the Arts Service) have been supporting OSNotts since our beginnings in 2011.  Inspire have supported Open Studios by commissioning and curating photography exhibitions of artists and makers, shown in their Library Galleries and on the Inspire website.

This year Inspire will curate an exhibition celebrating 10 years of Open Studios and they would like to hear from you.

  • Arnold, Mansfield Central & Retford Library.

Whats involved & How to take Part? – Inspire would like to hear from you!

  • Even if 2021 is your first Open Studios Notts, there are 3 ways for you to be part of the exhibition – with images, stories and interviews.
  • You can submit your contribution on the OSNotts 2021 application form.
  • As a thank you for your contribution, everyone who submits a contribution will have exclusive access to three live online workshops!  These will cover topics such as how to take a good photo, how to film a video, introduction to editing and introduction to using social media.
