Regional Support for Notts Artists/Makers

In addition to the Open Studios Notts initiative (which is linked to the Open Studios Network | Open Studios Commsthere are various areas of support open to Notts artists.

Nottinghamshire Arts Fund - run by Notts County Council

Newark & Sherwood District Council arts funding

Creative Greenhouse - provides support and training for artists and creative businesses in Derbys and Notts

eBusiness Club - runs short training courses on ICT for local businesses (some of it free depending on location)

Nottinghamshire Gallery spaces

Bassetlaw Museum - museum, including an art gallery, in Retford.  Notts-districts  galleries-white

Harley Gallery - gallery, craft shop and studios linked to the Harley Foundation

Mansfield Museum - includes the 'Escapes' art & exhibition spaces including a permanent exhibition of watercolours by Mansfield artist Albert Sorby Buxton, an 18th C porcelain collection and temporary exhibition space.

Newark & Sherwood District Council Museum Service is in a state of flux. The old Millgate Museum has closed and work is underway on the new Civil War Museum (due to open late 2014), which will have new exhibition spaces.

Patchings Art Centre - gallery, art & pottery studio,  restaurant, framers and art materials shop

Rainbow Gallery - temporary exhibition space within the D H Lawrence Heritage Centre, Eastwood (managed by Broxtowe Borough Council in partnership with the University of Nottingham).

Rufford Craft Centre - part of the Rufford Abbey Country Park of Notts County Council

Sherwood Forest Art & Craft Centre - art and craft centre with 16 studios and cafe in  former Coach House and Stables of Edwinstowe Hall within Sherwood Forest.
